HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team remains in a tie for fourth place after the conclusion of two rounds in the Palmas del Mar Collegiate on Monday at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
TEAM
- UNCG carded a six-under-par (282) in the second round to sit in a tie for fourth place with Southern Illinois with an overall score of four-under-par (572).
- TCU and Wake Forest are pacing the 14-team leaderboard with a 13-under-par (563) score in the first two rounds.
- TCU recorded the best round score in the tournament so far with a 15-under-par (273) on Monday.
- Rhode Island moved up four spots to sit just above UNCG and Southern Illinois, in third place with a five-under-par (571) after rounds of 292-279.
- Rutgers stands in sixth place after moving up four positions from the previous round. The Scarlet Knights recorded a 10-over-par (298) on Sunday before coming back out on Monday to post a 12-under-par (276).
- The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford is in 12th place with a 10-over-par (586).
- Delaware rounds out the team leaderboard with a 23-over-par (599).
- UNCG is second in the field with 39 birdies and a 4.50 average on par five holes across the two rounds.
INDIVIDUAL
- Kelvin Hernandez moved up seven positions in the second round after notching a three-under-par (69) on Monday. The junior recorded an even-par (72) in round one to sit in a tie for ninth place with a three-under-par (141) overall score. He is tied for fourth in the tournament with 10 birdies.
- Dax Isbell follows closely behind after back-to-back even-par rounds to be in a tie for 13th place.
- Hernandez and Isbell are tied for second in the field with a 4.25 average on par five holes.
- Keenan Royalty is tied for 33rd place with a one-over-par (145) with rounds of 73-72.
- B.J. Boyce moved up a dominant 16 spots after recording a two-under-par (70) in round two. He is currently tied for 36th place with a two-over-par (146).
- Will Guidry and Jake Lewis are tied for 51st place with a five-over-par (149) overall score.
- Liam Percy and Cole Isbell round out the scorecard for the Spartans sitting in 72nd and 79th place, respectively.
