SEA ISLAND, GA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is in 10
th place after the first two rounds of play at the Sea Island Invitational, hosted by Rutgers on Monday at Sea Island-Plantation Golf Course.
TEAM
- UNCG started off the day with a season-best round score of 10-under-par (278). The Spartans carded a one-under-par (287) in the second round to sit in 10th place with an overall 11-under-par (565).
- The Spartans are in front of Rutgers, Nebraska, Penn State, Kennesaw State and West Virginia, respectively.
- Florida Gulf Coast is pacing the 15-team leaderboard with a 32-under-par (544) with rounds 276-268.
- UNCG is tied for fifth place in the field with 113 total pars and is sixth with a 3.94 average on par four holes.
INDIVIDUAL
- B.J. Boyce is pacing the Spartans and is tied for seventh overall with an eight-under-par (136). Boyce notched a six-under-par (66) in round one and a two-under-par (70) in the second round. He is tied for second on par four holes with a 3.65 average and is tied for fourth with 13 total birdies in two rounds.
- Jake Lewis is tied for 32nd place with an overall score of three-under-par (141) behind rounds of 69-72.
- Kelvin Hernandez follows closely behind, standing tied for 39th place with a two-under-par (142) after recording back-to-back rounds of one-under-par (71) on Monday.
- Dax Isbell stands tied for 60th place with a two-over-par (146) with rounds of 72-74.
- Liam Percy rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans, being tied for 73rd place with a five-over-par (149). Percy shot rounds of 75-74 and is tied for fourth in the field with 26 total pars on Monday.
- Chun-Ta Wu of Minnesota is pacing the 84-player leaderboard with a 13-under-par (131) after recording rounds of 64-67 on day one.
