BRIDGEPORT, W.VA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team finished the Mountaineer Invitational in seventh place on Tuesday at Pete Dye Golf Course in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
TEAM
- UNCG recorded rounds of 290-301-285 with an overall score of 12-over-par (876).
- The Spartans moved up two spots in the final round on Tuesday to finish in seventh place.
- This marks the fifth top-10 finish for the Spartans this season.
- UNCG finished ahead of Xavier, James Madison, Baylor, Villanova, George Mason, App State, VCU, Western Kentucky, William & Mary, Navy, Ball State and Saint Francis, respectively.
- Clemson finished on top of the 19-team leaderboard with a 20-under-par (840).
INDIVIDUAL
- Dax Isbell finished on top for the Spartans and in a tie for eighth place with a four-under-par (212) behind rounds of 72-70-70. The four-under-par (212) overall score was a season-best for Isbell.
- Kelvin Hernandez followed closely behind to finish tied for 18th place after recording an even-par (216) with round scores of 72-74-70.
- Jake Lewis recorded a six-over-par (222) with rounds of 70-81-71 to finish tied for 47th place.
- B.J. Boyce followed behind Lewis to finish the tournament in a tie for 77th place. He posted a 12-over-par (228) after notching rounds of 78-76-74.
- Keenan Royalty rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans to finish in 94th place with an 18-over-par (234) after posting scores of 76-81-77.
- Preston Stout of Oklahoma State finished atop the 104-player leaderboard with an 11-under-par (205).
