Men’s Golf Moves Up Two Spots in Round Two of SoCon Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team moved up two spots in round two of The 2026 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships to sit in fifth place on Tuesday at Solina Country Club in Columbia, South Carolina.

TEAM
  • UNCG carded a six-over-par (290) in Tuesday's second round to sit in fifth place with an overall score of 11-over-par (579).
  • The Spartans are pacing ETSU, Wofford and Samford, respectively, on the eight-team leaderboard.
  • Chattanooga is sitting atop the leaderboard with a three-under-par (565) through two rounds.
  • UNCG is leading the tournament with three eagles and a 4.55 average on par five holes.
  • The Spartans are fourth in the field with 96 pars and fifth with a 3.20 average on par three holes.
INDIVIDUAL
  • Kelvin Hernandez continues to pace the Spartans and is tied for third place on the 40-player leaderboard. Hernandez notched a one-over-par (72) on Tuesday to hold an overall score of three-under-par (139). He is third in the tournament with 10 birdies and tied for fourth with a 4.38 average on par five holes.
  • Jake Lewis moved up seven spots in the second round with a one-over-par (72) to be in a tie for 12th place with a two-over-par (144).
  • Dax Isbell also moved up an impressive 10 positions on Tuesday with a one-over-par (72). Isbell is currently tied for 14th place with a three-over-par (145).
  • B.J. Boyce stands tied for 31st place with rounds of 77-74 for an overall score of nine-over-par (151).
  • Liam Percy came in as a substitution in the second round, notching a five-over-par (76).
  • Isbell, Lewis and Hernandez are all tied for fourth in the field with a 2.90 average on par three holes.
  • Isbell, Boyce and Hernandez are three of 11 players in the tournament to have notched an eagle.

UNCG will conclude the SoCon Championships with the third and final round starting at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Solina Country Club in Columbia, South Carolina.
