GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team will conclude the 2026 non-conference schedule with the LD&B Insurance Invitational, hosted by James Madison from Friday to Sunday in Harrisonburg, Virginia, inside the Convocation Center. The Spartans will first face host school James Madison on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The team will then take on George Mason on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and conclude the three-day event with Delaware State on Sunday at noon.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS
- UNCG comes into the final weekend of non-conference action with a 5-3 overall mark.
- The Spartans went 2-1 in the Central Carolina Clash last weekend. The team defeated crosstown foe North Carolina A&T (3-1), before falling to Davidson (1-3), in the 2026 home opener. However, UNCG notched a win over North Carolina Central (3-1) to conclude the week.
- UNCG recorded a 17-12 overall record and a 9-7 mark in The Southern Conference (SoCon) last season.
- UNCG was selected to finish fourth in the 2026 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll with 50 total points.
- The 2026 roster features 12 returners and five newcomers, including four freshmen and one transfer.
- Junior outside hitter Allie Sweet was named to the SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team after being selected to the All-SoCon First Team last season.
- Sweet paces the SoCon in attacks per set (9.97), kills per set (4.26), points (156.0), points per set (5.03) and total attacks (403).
- The junior also stands out among national rankings as she is second in attacks per set, 11th in total attacks, 14th in points per set and 22nd in kills per set.
- Izora Gragg has been named SoCon Setter of the Week twice this season (Aug. 31 & Sept. 7), as she leads the league and stands out at 45th nationally with a 9.97 assists per set average.
- Connore' Siler-Nixon paces the team in the middle and is second in the league with a 1.16 blocks per set average.
- Chloe Nussbaum is the leading libero for the Spartans with 107 digs so far this season.
- As a team, the Spartans are second in the SoCon in assists per set (11.97), hitting percentage (.219) and kills per set (13.10).
- Sweet and Nussbaum both hit career milestones in the team's matchup at Clemson on Sept. 4. Sweet paced the Spartans with 16 kills to secure 1,000 career kills, while after leading UNCG with 19 digs, Nussbaum reached 1,000 career digs.
- Head Coach Trent Dunahoo is in his first season at the helm of the UNCG volleyball team and fourth season overall with the program. The 3-1 win over Northeastern on Aug. 29 marked his first win as a head coach.
ABOUT THE DUKES
- James Madison comes into the weekend 2-5 overall.
- Despite a five-match losing streak, the Dukes have taken sets against top tier teams, including No. 19 North Carolina.
- The team most recently fell to Pepperdine, 1-3 in a neutral site contest in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
- As a team, James Madison is leading the nation in blocks per set with a 3.64 average.
- The Dukes are pacing the Sun Belt and third in the country with 102.0 total blocks this season.
- Anna Wilson is a big part of the team's blocking as she leads the country with 1.86 blocks per set and is fifth with 52 total blocks on the year.
- Kennedy Louisell was named the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, while her and Aye Nhial were tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team.
- The Dukes were selected to finish first in the Sun Belt Preseason Poll East Division with 12 votes and 95 points.
- James Madison concluded the 2025 season 22-9 overall and 13-3 in the Sun Belt. The team's season was concluded with a 1-3 loss to Arkansas State in the Sun Belt Championship.
- Head Coach Lauren Steinbrecher is in her 17th season at the helm of the James Madison volleyball program and she has led the team to a 297-159 record during her time.
ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
- George Mason makes the trip over to Harrisonburg with a 7-2 mark on the 2026 season.
- The Patriots are on a three-match win streak after defeating UMBC (3-2), Morgan State (3-1) and Loyola Md. (3-1) in Baltimore, Maryland, last weekend.
- Kiera Hamilton is pacing the A-10 with an 11.15 attacks per set average, while Nia Thompson leads the league in total kills with 128.
- Camryn Weldon and Ava Cheney are the leading setters for the Patriots with 180 and 164 assists, respectively.
- Autumn Martinez-Robinson and Meredith Brown stand out defensively with 131 digs and 36.0 total blocks, respectively.
- George Mason was picked to finish fourth with 60 points on the 2026 A-10 Volleyball Predicted Order of Finish.
- The Patriots concluded the 2025 season 17-13 overall and 10-8 in the A-10.
- Head Coach Megan Shifflett Bachmann is in her fifth season with the Patriots and has guided them to a 51-77 record thus far.
ABOUT THE HORNETS
- Delaware State comes into the weekend with a 9-2 overall record.
- The Hornets went 2-1 last weekend, defeating Siena (3-0), Le Moyne (3-1), but falling to Bucknell (0-3) in the Siena Tournament at Loudonville, New York.
- The team is leading the MEAC across several statistical categories, including assists per set (11.31), blocks per set (2.44), kills per set (12.54), team assists (441), team kills (489) and team total blocks (95.0).
- Hannah Sanders is pacing the league and is 11th nationally with 50 total blocks this season.
- Aaliyah Mitchell is leading the conference in kills per set (3.67), points (139.0), points per set (4.21) and total kills (121).
- The Hornets were picked to finish third with two first-place votes on the 2026 MEAC Volleyball Preseason Predicted Order of Finish.
- The team concluded the 2025 season 12-17 overall and 7-7 in the MEAC.
- Head Coach David Brooks is in his fourth season at the helm of the Delaware State volleyball program with a 55-47 mark during his time.

The Spartans will begin SoCon play in Greensboro by hosting Western Carolina on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 26 at 3:00 p.m. inside Bodford Arena. All regular season home matches are free admission. For Friday's match, the first 100 UNCG students will receive a free cooler.
