CHARLESTON, SC - The College of Charleston defeated UNC Greensboro 3-0 (30-23, 30-14, 30-16) in a Southern Conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night at the John Kresse Arena. The Cougars have won nine straight matches and improved their overall record to 17-1 and a league-best 9-0 in the SoCon.
Junior Hilary Overby lpaced UNCG (2-16, 1-7 SoCon) with a match-leading 12 kills. Senior Adrian Hicks recorded five kills and had 20 assists. Sophomore Alysia Rosvold led the Spartans in digs with 14.
Sophomore Tiffany Blum led the Cougars on offense with 11 kills on the strength of a .500 hitting percentage. Senior Rebecca Wieters also reached double-digit kills as she notched ten on the evening. Kaycie Carr led the team with 35 assists and 15 digs.
UNCG will visit league rival Chattanooga on Saturday night at 7 pm in Chattanooga, TN. Meanwhile, Charleston will hit the road for a Friday tilt at Georgia Southern in Statesboro.
