The storylines:
• UNCG will look to get back on track in its third game in the past six days as the Spartans return home to host The Citadel on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Greensboro Coliseum.

• The Spartans lead the all-time series against the Bulldogs, 12-7, dating back to 1980. This meeting with be the lone matchup between the two sides this season. Last season, UNCG defeated the Bulldogs, 59-53, on the road. Ben Stywall had 19 points and 14 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season in the winning effort. At one point in the series, UNCG won eight-straight games from 2002-08.

• On Saturday, UNCG traveled up to Western Carolina and dropped an 83-73 decision. Brandon Evans led UNCG with 21 points, while Aaron Brackett added 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. The Spartans used a 15-0 run in the second half to make it a one-point game with 8 minutes left, but the Catamounts pulled away late for the win.

• The Bulldogs come into the contest on a two-game skid after falling to Furman and Wofford at home on Thursday and Saturday. Prior to that, The Citadel had won four games in a row. The Bulldogs currently sit at fourth place in the South Division at 5-7, just half a game behind Davidson for third place.

• On Wednesday night, UNCG dropped its second overtime contest in the last three games as the Spartans fell to Appalachian State, 80-78. Aloysius Henry poured in a career-high 26 points to lead the Spartans, while Brandon Evans added 17 points and 11 rebounds for his second career double-double. UNCG had a chance to tie the game at the end of overtime, but Evans' shot wasn't able to fall from the free throw line.

• UNCG was winless in its first 15 outings this season after facing six ACC opponents and very tough teams in Richmond and VCU. The 0-15 start by the Spartans marked the worst start in school history, breaking the record set by the 1967-68 and 1968-69 teams, which both started 0-7.

• Despite only starting in three games, Trevis Simpson now leads the Spartans in scoring with 10.6 ppg. Brandon Evans is second in the conference in 3-point percentage at 47.8% from behind the arc and would be fourth nationally, but he fails to reach to NCAA minimum of 2.5 3-point field goals made per game.

• UNCG has five scorers who average double figure points. Simpson leads the team at 10.6 ppg, while Korey Van Dussen (10.5 ppg), Aloysius Henry (10.5), Brandon Evans (10.5) and Kyle Randall (10.1) are also in double figures.

• The Spartans have had a considerably new look over the last two seasons. In fact, just one person in uniform today was in uniform in the 2008-09 opener at Charlotte – Elhanan BoneBrandon Evans was sitting out after transferring from East Carolina and Darrius Sellers was injured.
