GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's golf team sits in a tie for 32^nd overall after 36-holes of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Charleston. The 41-team event is the largest field in the country and is played on two courses - the Osprey Point Golf Club and the Oak Point Golf Club.

The Spartans played round two on the Oak Point course and will also play the third and final round on the Oak Point Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. from holes No. 7-10. Live scoring off the week is available at www.golfstatresults.com.

The Spartans are tied with Longwood for 32^nd overall with a two-round score of 643. UNCG opened with a 317 in round one before posting a 326 score in round two. Tournament host College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina are tied for the team lead at 13-over par 598.

Sophomore Lexi Kershaw (Winston-Salem, N.C./Catawba) continued her consistent play, sitting in a tie for 86^th place overall. Kershaw has posted back-to-back rounds of 6-over par 78 and is 12-over par 156 on the week. Freshman Natalia Asensio (Madrid, Spain/Cardenal Spinola) is tied for 122^nd place at 15-over 159 (74-85).

“We all started off our day better today,” Kershaw said. “I was really confident over the ball and made some great swings. We are all ready to go out and play our best in the final round tomorrow.”

Redshirt freshman Savanna Mackie (Greensboro, N.C./Appalachian State) and junior Emily Kurey (Alpharetta, Ga./University of Louisville) are tied for 170^th overall at 166. Mackie posted rounds of 84-82 while Kurey as carded rounds of 85-81. Junior Kristin Powers (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) rounds out the lineup with a 171 score (81-90) and sits in a tie for 191^st.
