GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG baseball is set to host its final non-conference series this weekend as the Spartans will welcome the Georgetown Hoyas to the UNCG Baseball Stadium. Games will be played Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning at 6, 4 and 1 p.m., respectively. UNCG is 17-6, fresh off a 12-6 win over High Point last night. Georgetown enters at 7-16 and won two of their last three games.
Georgetown has made the trip down to the Gate City twice before with UNCG earning three-game sweeps in the 2014 and 2016 seasons. One run decided the finales in both series.

The Spartans defeated Triad rival High Point last night to earn their 10th win in the last 12 games. Cesar Trejo leads the team with a .455 (40-for-88) average with eight doubles, three triples and 30 runs driven in. He adds four home runs and has stolen 12 bases on the season. Andrew Moritz continues to be impressive in his junior season, hitting at a .435 (40-for-92) clip with seven doubles, two triples and a pair of homers. Dillon Stewart provides the pop in the Spartan lineup, hammering a team-best six homers to go with eight doubles and 21 RBI.
This series' starting pitchers will see Jake Lewis, Matt Frisbee and Bryce Hensley toe the rubber. Lewis is set to make his first weekend start of his career on Thursday nigh. The junior has logged 17.0 innings in 12 relief appearances, earning a 4.76 ERA on the season. No stranger to starting games, Lewis worked as the midweek starter in his freshman and sophomore seasons and has started 10 games previously. Frisbee is set to make his seventh start of the season. The junior has a 4-0 record and a 2.15 ERA in a team-best 37.2 innings of work. He's allowed just nine earned runs and leads the team with 48 strikeouts. Hensley will also be making his seventh start of the season. The senior has worked in 30.0 innings, earning a 5.40 ERA with 35 strikeouts.
Georgetown defeated Delaware State, 10-5 on Tuesday evening in its seventh home game of the season. The Hoyas are just 1-7 away from Shirley Povich Field, with the one victory coming at Ohio State in the second of a three-game series a week ago.
The Hoyas hit at a .255 team average, led by Richie O'Reilly's .364 (16-for-44) average. Eddie McCabe leads the team with 19 RBI as he is the only Hoya with double-digit RBI on the season. McCabe hits at a .348 (31-for-89) clip, with two doubles and a home run. The Hoyas have connected on four home runs on the season, each by a different player.
Georgetown will be throwing Owen Lamon Thursday, Jack Cushing Friday and Brent Killam Saturday. Lamon has thrown 23.1 innings, earning a 1-2 record with an 8.10 ERA. He's struck out 15 hitters and opponents are hitting .284 against him. Cushing will be making his fifth start of the season, earning a 1-3 record with a 6.11 ERA in 28.0 innings. He's struck out 21 hitters and allowed 10 doubles on the year. Killam will toss in the finale, making his fourth start. He's earned a 2.76 ERA and a 3-1 record in 29.1 innings. He leads the team with 35 strikeouts and has allowed just nine earned runs.
