Former UNCG Basketball Player Kayel Locke Wins Dutch Basketball League Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former UNC Greensboro men's basketball player Kayel Locke helped propel Landstede Basketbal Zwolle to the team's first Dutch Basketball League Championship on June 1 in a 78-71 victory over Groningen in Game 6 of the championship series.

Locke finished Game 6 with six points along with four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes of action. For the playoffs, the Baltimore native averaged 9.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. Locke reached double-digit scoring totals in seven of Zwolle's 12 playoff games.

For the regular season, Locke averaged nearly six points and 3.5 rebounds per contest.

Locke played for the Spartans from 2012-16, appearing in 130 games with 115 starts. He ranks in the top 10 in program history in total points (1,522), field goals made (569), free throws made (341) and total rebounds (652). His 115 career starts also ranks third in school history behind only Francis Alonso and Kyle Hines.
