GREENSBORO, N.C. – In the final five games of its non-conference schedule, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will host its first of four games, welcoming Elon University to Fleming Gym on Wednesday, December 15 with a tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
 
The next two home games will take place right before the turn of the New Year, while the Spartans finish off their non-conference schedule on January 2 against Johnson C. Smith at 2:00 p.m.

A Look at UNC Greensboro
  • UNCG secured a 10-point victory over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 66-56, on Saturday.
  • Senior Jaylynn Brown dropped 18 points in the win to lead the team, this was the third time this season with double-digit points.
  • UNCG has outrebounded opponents in seven of its 10 games this season.
  • The Spartans lead the conference in scoring defense allowing 55.6 points per game.
  • As of December 13, Khalis Cain is leading the conference in offensive rebounds per game (4.0), second in field goal percentage (55-percent) and blocked shots per game (1.2), and third in rebounds per game (8.7).
  • Cain is also 22nd nationally in offensive rebounds per game. 
  • Isys Grady is leading the team averaging 11.9 points per game, the only Spartan in double-digit figures.  
  • In three of its four victories, UNCG has held the opposition below 50 points.
A Look at Elon
  • Elon defeated Davidson College, 65-51, in its last battle on Sunday, November 12. The Spartans will face the Wildcats on Saturday, December 18.
  • Three from the Phoenix are averaging double-digit points including Brie Perpignan (12.9), Ariana Nance (12.3), and Evonna McGill (10.1).
  • Kayla Liles is leading the charge in grabbing rebounds averaging 5.9 per game and McGill is second on the team with 5.3 per game.
  • Liles is ranked fourth in the CAA in steals per game (2.4) and  17th in rebounds per game.
  • Perpignan, Nance, and Vanessa Taylor are the only Phoenix that have started and played in all eight games.
  • Perpignan, who is currently sitting 14th in the Conference in points per game, received Preseason Honorable Mention, while the Phoenix were picked to finish sixth in the CAA Preseason Poll.
  • Perpignan is also third in the CAA in assists per game (6.0), sixth in free throw percentage (72-percent).
  • Nance is leading the CAA in three-point field goals per game, averaging 2.1.

  • UNCG is 24-20 all-time against Elon.
  • The Phoenix have won the last two games against the Spartans, both in Elon N.C.
