Southern Conference announces softball weekly honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball junior
Morgan Scott was named Southern Conference (SoCon) Pitcher of the Week, announced by the Conference on Monday.
This is the fifth-straight recognition for the Spartans this season.
Jordan Gontram,
Blayke Batten, and
Delaney Cumbie were previously named Players of the Week.
Maycin Brown was also selected as Player of the Month for February.
Scott appeared and started in two of the five games for the Spartans this week. In both games, she earned wins to bring her total to nine victories. UNCG won 6-2 over Michigan State on Thursday and 3-1 over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday.

Scott tossed 14.0 innings this week giving up 13 hits. She averaged 1.00 earned runs striking out 15. In the win over the Red Flash, Scott struck out 10 batters. This was the second time this season that Scott struck out double-digit batters and 12
th time in her career.

She currently leads the SoCon in six categories: innings pitched (90.2), batters struck out (87), batters struck out looking (28), wins (9), appearances (15), and games started (12). Scott is also sixth in opposing batting average (.242) and eighth in earned run average (3.32).

The Spartans are now 15-8 overall.
