Breneman Earns 300th Win at UNCG in 8-1 Victory over Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team totaled 11 hits in a dominant 8-1 victory over the Charlotte 49ers on Tuesday afternoon.

This is the seventh game this season with double-digit hits.

Along with the third-straight win for the Spartans, head coach Janelle Breneman, in her 10th-season, recorded her 300th win with UNCG.

Breneman is the winningest softball coach in UNCG history. She bypassed previous head coach Melody Cope's 220 wins on March 31, 2019 with a 4-3 win at Chattanooga.

RECORDS
UNCG: 16-8, 0-0 SoCon
Charlotte: 19-7, 1-2 C-USA

Breneman on 300 wins
"I certainly don't want to stop at 300, let's be clear on that. I love what I do and UNCG is a special place. It is because of great athletes that have allowed me to get to 300. I see this as great momentum for the team because we have had championships over and over and over and not a lot of programs can say that. That is what makes me so proud, the championships, the rings, and we get to celebrate together. I am excited to bring this energy to conference play."
