CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In
Maycin Brown fashion, the junior crushed a three-run home run to give the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team the lead and eventual 7-5 win over Big Ten foe Penn State Saturday night at Anderson Stadium.
This season, Brown's three home runs have been clutch. She had a three-run homer to put UNCG up 3-1 after falling behind 1-0 against George Washington. The Spartans would win 10-1 in six innings.
The Summerville, South Carolina native then sent out a two-run shot to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead against Loyola Chicago. The Ramblers responded with a run, but UNCG came out on top 4-1.
This homer was nothing different in UNCG's fifth come-from-behind win of the season.
From Brown on the game and her home run
"I hope that everyone can realize that we are a team that you can't give up on. We proved that especially tonight. We are a team that will always compete and give everything we have until the very last out."
