GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer head coach
Michael Coll, announced the promotion of Assistant Coach,
Stefani Workman, to Associate Head Coach.
"Stefani deserves this promotion," stated head coach Coll. "She goes above and beyond what's expected of her and our players and I rely on her for many things to help us all balance what's needed and expected during our daily actions. Her experiences through almost 20 years coaching college soccer at Power 5 schools and Mid Major Schools plus a time coaching outside of Division 1 means that she has 'seen it all'. She has helped lead multiple teams to NCAA appearances in her career including the 2017 and 2018 UNCG Women's Soccer teams and we know she will work tirelessly to provide our players with a fantastic experience here as Spartans. Congratulations and thank you Stefani!"
Workman joined the Spartan staff in August 2017 and was an integral part of helping the Spartans win back-to-back SoCon Tournament Championships in 2017 and 2018. She saw Cienna Rideout named 2018 SoCon Player of the Year and
Nicole Souply voted 2018 Freshman of the Year. Rideout was also selected on the 2018 NSCAA All-Southeast Region second team. Workman has coach 14 All-Conference selections and seven All-Freshman honorees during her five years with the Blue & Gold.
"I am honored that Coach Coll has given me this opportunity to grow at UNCG," said Workman. "I am also thankful for the support of the administration and I believe UNCG athletics is the best in the SoCon. I will work hard to help Coach Coll continue the success of this storied program."
In 2021 Workman coached fifth-year goalkeeper

Tyler-Cooper was also the fourth women's soccer player in the past five years to sign a contract after the completion of her career in the Blue & Gold. The goalkeeper signed with FC Málaga City Femenino in Spain.
Under the guidance of Workman, goalkeeper
Abby Buchholz delivered five shutouts over her 16 starts in 2019, with four coming in conference play. Her 0.89 goals against average when playing conference opponents ranked fourth in the SoCon, while her four clean sheets against ETSU, Mercer, Wofford and VMI placed her in a tie for the top mark in the conference.
In her first two seasons working with the Spartan goalkeepers, Workman guided
Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper to among the best in the Southern Conference in every statistical category. Cooper led the SoCon in save percentage (.848) in 2018, while finishing second in saves (106) and shutouts (8) and third in goals against average (0.94). She allowed just one goal in the conference tournament with a .032 goals against average, 0.952 save percentage and 20 saves that pushed the Spartans to win their eighth SoCon Tournament, and first since 2010. In 2018 Tyler-Cooper was selected to the All-SoCon Second Team with a 15-5-1 record on the year. She ranked second in the conference in shutouts (6), third in saves (87), fourth in save percentage (.813) and fifth in goals against average (0.97).
