Gallery: (4-1-2023) Track & Field at VertKlasse Meeting
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's and women's track & field competed in the two-day VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point University.
At the annual event, eight men posted personal best times, while six women clocked in personal bests. There were also 10 debuts in a specific event.
Freshman
Reagan O'Quinn earned one of the Spartan women's four top-25 finishes of the day. She placed 17th in the 800-meter run out of 21 competitors finishing with a time of 2:19.33. Graduate student
Chandler McCaslin placed 20th in the event with her time of 2:21.69.
Sophomore
Laila Burk was one of the six personal bests from the women in the meet. She finished 25th out of 83 competitors in the 800-meter participate event.
The final top-25 finish for the women was from McCaslin, who also competed in the 1500-meter run. The graduate student finished 17th out of 132 competitors with a personal best mark of 4:42.08.
Jenna Reiter (35th),
Victoria Sosa (47th),
Serena Henderson (73rd), and
Camille Carlson (78th) also finished the 1500-meter event with personal best times.
On the men's side, there were four top-20 finishes, including a first-place finish from
Andrew Hamilton in the 800-meter participate event.
Graduate student
Joe Thoma had two top-10 finishes, including a sixth-place mark out of 120 competitors in the 1500-meter run. He ran a time of 3:49.57. Thoma also competed in the 800-meter run, taking home an eighth-place finish with a personal best time of 1:53.64.
Freshman
Evan Pena was the final Spartan from the men's side to earn a top-20 mark. Pena placed 20th with a time of 3:58.91 for a personal best.
Zachary Taylor (50th),
Ethan Long (62nd), and
Spencer Connick (85th) also ran personal best times in the event.

UNCG will compete at the two-day Aggie Invitational next Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8, hosted by NC A&T at the Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex.
