Men’s Basketball Welcomes Six to Roster

8/9/2023 4:35:00 PM

GREENSBORO, N.C. –  The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team and Head Coach Mike Jones will welcome six new Spartans to the 2023-24 roster.

Tim Ceaser | Graduate | Forward | 6'9" | Utah Valley University
Hometown: Marion, Arkansas
High School: Marion
AAU: Team Penny
From Jones: "Tim is a long skilled forward who we were able to get for his last year of college basketball. His most obvious weapon is his shooting at his size, but he's more than that. He's an all-around forward who can score inside and out and will be a versatile piece for us on the defensive end. It was important for us to add a player with experience and versatility, and we are excited to see how Tim fills that role for us."

Jaylon Gibson | Senior | Forward | 6'9" | Winston-Salem State University
Hometown: Zebulon, North Carolina
High School: Grace Christian School
AAU: Team Wall
From Jones: "Jaylon is a rim-protecting forward whose talent is limitless. We are excited to try to get it all out of him during his time at UNCG. He's shown flashes of how good he can be, but for him it's all about consistency. Offensively, he is an above the rim finisher and has a soft touch inside and out. Jaylon's unique skillset, his physical attributes, and servant attitude made him an ideal person to add to our roster for this season."

Muon Reath | Junior | Guard | 6'7" | South Plains College
Hometown: Ottawa, Canada
High School: Toronto Basketball Academy
AAU: Uplay Canada
From Jones: "Muon is a versatile tall wing who comes to us from junior college. He is known for being a great teammate as well as his ability to score the ball from the perimeter. He can really shoot and is an explosive finisher at the rim. I've been most impressed by how hard he plays on the defensive end. He's got a nose for the ball and such great length that he can change the game defensively, not to mention he's a great rebounder."

Mason So | Freshman | Guard | 6'2"
Hometown: Burke, Virginia
High School: Dematha Catholic
AAU: Team Melo
From Jones: "Mason is a young man who comes to us from one of the best high school programs in the country, Dematha Catholic in Maryland. He has been well coached, which will ease his transition into the college game. He's a big point guard who makes guys better and can really shoot. On the defensive end, he is aggressive and has great anticipation skills. We look forward to seeing him grow as a Spartan."

Domas Kauzonas | Freshman | Forward | 6'10"
Hometown: Vilnius, Lithuania
High School: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School
AAU: Atlanta Timberwolves
From Jones: "Domas is a big skilled European forward that has already come so far in his first summer with us. His high school coach and I worked together so when he recommended Domas, it was easy to take his word. We have been blown away by his work ethic and capacity to learn in his first summer. He is going to be a big, physical defensive anchor with a unique mix of skill and strength on the offensive end."

Keyon Webb | Freshman | Guard | 6'2"
Hometown: Durham, North Carolina
High School: Quality Education Academy
AAU: Team Trezz
From Jones: "Keyon is a young point guard who will be joining the team as a walk-on next season. He is a hardnosed, heady player who will become a great leader for us in his time here. He has good size as a point guard. He does a great job making his teammates better and can hit an open shot. His role as the scout team point guard is absolutely vital to what we do, and we are glad he chose to be a Spartan."

The Spartans 2023-24 schedule is still being finalized. UNCG wrapped up its international to Senegal and France last week. Take a look at blog number one from Kobe Langley here.
