Track Travels In-State for Tryon College Banked Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's and women's track teams will continue the 2026 indoor season competing in the Tryon College Banked Invitational hosted at the Tryon International Indoor Complex in Mill Spring, North Carolina.

MEET/FACILITY INFORMATION
The Tryon International Indoor Complex installed a 200m custom-designed 12-degree banked Mondo Track. The track is surrounded by over 3,300+ seats.
 
Facility Entrance Fee: $11.60 (click here to purchase online) / $15 cash at the door
Parking: $10
All tickets are general admission for the entire meet.
Children 10 and under are admitted free.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Spartans competed in the Liberty Open last weekend on Friday in Lynchburg, Virginia.
  • The women saw freshman Ayzia Jefferson break the 200-meter school record for the second time this year. Jefferson bested her time of 25.95 at the Mondo College Invitational with a new personal best time of 25.82. She finished 32nd out of 122 competitors.
  • Classmate Alana Hill also broke a record. She clocked in a time of 59.78 in the 400-meter run, placing 29th out of 76 competitors. The previous mark of 1:00.38 was set by Maddison McIntyre at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off in December.
  • On the women's side, seven clocked in personal best times, while there were four on the men's side. There were also 13 top 10 marks from the Spartans at the meet.
  • Junior Khalid Abdullahi impressed the field of 16 in the 3000-meter invite, taking home first place with a time of 8:25.14. Freshman Luke Hühn was the second Spartan to finish the race, finishing in fifth with a time of 8:30.67. Senior Luke Ward also earned a top 10 mark in the event, placing sixth with a time of 8:31.52.
  • The men's 4x400m, comprised of Glodi MvoviJeremiah JonesSamuel Barnard and Emery Anderson finished seventh out of 24 teams. The quartet ran a combined time of 3:25.29, which now sits second among the UNCG record book.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will take some time off before competing in the Sound Invite hosted at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday, Feb. 14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
