LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- UNCG dropped both its matches at home last week with a 52-40 loss to Chattanooga on Thursday and falling to ETSU on Saturday, 58-48.
- In the team's game against ETSU, Jeni Levine led all scorers with 20 points, marking her 17th game this season in double-figures.
- She went 4-for-5 from behind the arc, matching her career-best in three-pointers made.
- Levine, Kristina Rakotobe and Ciara Harris picked up five boards each against the Bucs.
- Levine and Tasia Johnson paced the Spartans with three assists each.
- Levine also led UNCG with three steals.
ABOUT THE SPARTANS
- UNCG comes into Sunday's contest 12-9 overall and 2-4 in the SoCon, sitting in a tie for fifth place with Mercer in the conference standings.
- UNCG is leading the SoCon in six statistical categories: assist/turnover ratio (0.96), assists per game (14.1), scoring defense (54.6), scoring margin (11.6), three-point percentage (32.7) and turnover margin (3.90).
- The Blue & Gold are second in the league in offensive rebounds per game (13.2), three-point attempts per game (24.3) and three-pointers per game (8.0).
- The Spartans' 54.6 scoring defense is ninth in the country.
- Levine paces the SoCon in points (312) and points per game (14.9). She's second in the league with 276 field goal attempts this season.
- Makiah Asidanya leads the conference with a 39.1 three-point percentage.
- Jaila Lee is second in the SoCon at the charity stripe with a 90.7 percentage.
- Levine (14.9) and Asidanya (11.4) are pacing the Spartans in double-figure scoring this season.
- UNCG is leading its opponents in several statistical categories: points (66.1-54.6), field goals (23.6-19.7), three-pointers (8.0-5.0), free throws (11.0-10.1), rebounding (37.4-33.4), assists (14.1-9.7), assist/turnover ratio (1.0-0.5), points off turnovers (18.3-11.5), steals (9.5-7.2) and blocks (3.0-2.9).
- Asidanya (Nov. 11) and Lee (Jan. 13) have both picked up SoCon Player of the Week accolades for the 2025-26 season.
- UNCG was voted to finish second with two first-place votes in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Lee and Asidanya were selected to the SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team after both of their stellar performances last season.
- The reigning SoCon Coach of the Year, Head Coach Trina Patterson is in her 10th year with the Blue & Gold this season.
- The 2025-26 roster features five returners and eight newcomers. Four of the newcomers are freshmen, while the other four are transfer students.
- UNCG comes into the 2025-26 season after a historic 2024-25 campaign.
- The Spartans earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 1998. The team defeated Chattanooga, 64-57, in The 2025 SoCon Championship, earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
- The team fell to No. 1 USC in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- Western Carolina comes to Greensboro at last place in the SoCon standings with a 3-17 overall record and 0-6 conference mark.
- The Catamounts dropped both of their home contests last week against ETSU, 60-52 on Thursday and Chattanooga, 61-52 on Saturday.
- Ary Dizon is second in the SoCon with 29 total blocks and a 1.53 blocks per game average.
- Ally Hollifield is second in the league with a 2.05 steals per game average and 132 three-point attempts this season.
- Hollifield stands out from behind the arc, averaging 1.8 three-pointers a game. She also paces the team with a 5.5 rebounding average and a 3.8 assists average.
- Hollifield (12.1) and Taj Hunter (11.2) are leading the Catamounts in double-figures this season.
- The Catamounts were picked to finish seventh in the 2025 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Head Coach Jonathan Tsipis is in his second season at the helm of the Western Carolina women's basketball program.
SERIES HISTORY VS THE CATAMOUNTS
The Spartans are 41-40 in the all-time series against the Catamounts. UNCG claimed all three games against Western Carolina last season with a 66-58 win in Cullowhee on Jan. 25, a 57-53 win in Greensboro on Feb. 22 and a 50-43 victory in the SoCon Quarterfinals on March 6. In addition, UNCG is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings with Western Carolina.

FLEMING GYMNASIUM RENAMED BODFORD ARENA
- On Saturday, Nov. 8, Fleming Gymnasium, home to UNCG volleyball, women's basketball and men's basketball was renamed to Bodford Arena.
- This historic moment for the department was made possible through a transformational $2 million gift from the Bodford family.
- This generous support represents the largest unrestricted gift in the history of UNCG Athletics, as well as the first associated with naming a competitive athletic facility.
- The University is already familiar with the Bodford name - the Bodford Family Speed, Strength & Conditioning Center was dedicated in October 2020.
