HIGH POINT, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's & women's track teams opened the outdoor season in the Bob Davidson Memorial, hosted by High Point, on Saturday at Vert Stadium.
Three UNCG school records were broken, including the women's 100-meter run, 200-meter run and the men's 4x400-meter relay.
The quartet of
Jeremiah Jones,
Samuel Barnard,
Glodi Mvovi and
Emery Anderson broke a year-old mark of 3:24.30 that Mvovi, Barnard,
Andrew Hamilton and
Logan Ruffner set at the 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships. Jones, Barnard, Mvovi and Anderson ran a time of 3:20.86, finishing sixth out of 11 teams.
Ayzia Jefferson clocked in a time of 25.04 in the 200-meter run, breaking
Milania Millard's 2025 time of 26.35 from the VertKlasse Meeting. Jefferson finished 18
th out of 43 competitors.
Jefferson and
Alana Hill both clocked in a new school record time of 12.52 in the 100-meter run. The previous time of 12.65, run by Nautica Friday was set on May 10, 2018, at the 2018 SoCon Outdoor Championships. Jefferson and Hill's time placed them 22nd and 23rd, respectively, out of 30 competitors.
In the men's 1500-meter run, Mvovi ran a personal best time of 4:04.38, placing 20
th out of 29 competitors.
Jones also ran in the 800-meter run, where he clocked in a time of 1:55.10, finishing 18
th out of 27 competitors. Ruffner (1:55.39/20
th) and
Lane Prochaska (1:56.74/23
rd) both ran personal best times in the event.
In the women's 1500-meter run,
Hailey Meyers dropped 33 seconds from her previous time for a new personal best mark of 4:45.89. She placed 14
th out of 25 competitors.
Maddison McIntyre was the only Spartan to break one minute in the 400-meter run. She clocked in a time of 59.55, good for 24
th out of 31 competitors.
Chelsea Valdivia-Rizo was the next in Blue & Gold to cross the finish line, finishing in a personal best time of 1:02.41, placing 28
th overall.
