Women’s Golf Gears Up For 2026 SoCon Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team gears up to compete in The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina, from April 20-22.

THE FORMAT        
The first round will begin on Monday at 8:30 a.m. followed by the second round on Tuesday and final round on Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS     

  • UNCG concluded the regular season at the North Carolina Cup hosted by North Carolina on April 4, at the UNC Finely Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.    

  • The Spartans finished the one-day event with a score of 33-over-par (593) with rounds of 293-300 for fifth place.   

  • Julia Baeumken led the way for the Spartans, placing in a tie for 12th with a three-over-par (143) with rounds of 72-71.   

SPARTANS THIS SEASON        

  • The Spartans opened the 2025-26 season with a seventh-place finish at the Golfweek Caledonia from Sept. 7-9 at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. UNCG turned in an overall score of 19-over par (871).        

  • Then the Spartans traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take part in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. UNCG finished in 10th place with an overall score of 92-over-par (956) with rounds of 318-322-316.       

  • The Spartans competed in the Evie Odom Invitational, hosted by Old Dominion from Oct. 16-18 at Princess Anne Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia.     

  • The Blue & Gold carded a 42-over-par (882) with rounds of 297-289-296, finishing in a tie for ninth place. Baeumken led the way with a two-over par (212) performance in three rounds of action to finish tied for seventh overall.          

  • Baeumken won The SoCon Golfer of the Week on Oct. 22, 2025.      

  • The Spartans returned home for the UNCG Collegiate on Oct. 20–21 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. UNCG carded an overall score of 24-over-par (885) behind rounds of 298-293-294, winning the tournament for their first program win since the Puerto Rico Shootout on March 4, 2025.     

  • UNCG hosted the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate from Feb. 1-3 at the Hammock Creek Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.        

  • The Spartans carded an overall score of 35-over-par (899) with rounds of 308-299-292 for a shared second place finish with Lipscomb.      

  • UNCG recorded 29 birdies and 166 pars across the tournament, which ranked fourth and second, respectively.    

  • UNCG played in the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational from Feb. 20-22 at the Great Courses Golf Course in Greensboro, Georgia.    

  • UNCG carded rounds of 291-283-301 to finish the three-day tournament in second place with an overall score of 11-over-par (875).     

  • The Spartans paced the entire tournament in par fours with a 4.12 average.   

  • UNCG played in the Low Country Invitational from March 9-10 at the Indigo Run Golf Course in Hilton Head, South Carolina.    

  • The Spartans finished the tournament in fourth place with a score of 59-over-par (923) behind rounds of 313-306-304.  

  • UNCG competed in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate from March 30-31 at the Mimosa Hills Golf Club in Morganton, North Carolina.    

  • The Spartans finished in fourth place in the two-day tournament with a 49-over-par (913) behind rounds of 316-295-302.  

  • The Spartans enter the tournament with eight Top 10 finishes and are ranked No. 113 in the Clippd rankings.  

2025 SOUTHERN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT  

  • Furman won the title at 34-over-par (898) after rounds of 295-305-298. 

  • The Spartans placed fourth out of the nine teams from the conference at 57-over-par (921) after posting 303-314-304 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

  • UNCG finished seven strokes ahead of ETSU (928) and three short of Mercer (918). 

  • McIlvaine led the Spartans and tied for seventh at nine-over-par (225) after carding rounds of 74-77-74. 

  • Furman's Audrey Ryu won the individual title at even-par (216).
