GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team and Head Coach
Trent Dunahoo have announced the 2026 season schedule.
The 2026 season marks the first season for UNCG volleyball with Dunahoo at the helm of the program. He spent his first two seasons as an assistant and was promoted to head coach in March of 2026.
UNCG recorded a 17-12 overall record and a 9-7 mark in The Southern Conference (SoCon) last season. The fifth-seeded Spartans defeated No. 4 Chattanooga in a SoCon Tournament Quarterfinal match, advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 2017. The season was concluded with a 3-1 battle against No. 1 ETSU in the SoCon Semifinals. Among the returners for the Spartans are last year's All-SoCon selections
Allie Sweet and
Connore' Siler-Nixon.
The schedule is highlighted by four tournaments in the non-conference slate including at Clemson, South Carolina and James Madison, while UNCG will co-host the Central Carolina Clash from Sept. 10-12. SoCon play will begin in Bodford Arena with the Spartans hosting Western Carolina on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 p.m. This will be the first year that the SoCon will integrate teams playing the same opponent back-to-back days.
"This schedule features a great mix of talented opponents, especially across the Carolinas," said Dunahoo. "Competing at a high level is very important to us as a team and I am excited to go head-to-head with these teams this coming season."
