GREENSBORO, N.C. – As the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team prepares to get the 2026 fall season underway, 11 members of the team are getting settled after spending the summer competing in different leagues across the country. 
 
The summer season saw returners, incoming transfers and incoming freshmen take part in seven different leagues across the country, with multiple named to respective All-Star teams or playing roles for league-winning squads. 
 
Jake Lodgek – New England Collegiate Baseball League, Martha's Vineyard Sharks
A transfer from Miami (Fla.), Lodgek hurled 19.2 innings for the Sharks on the way to a 30-13 season in the NECBL. A native of Linwood, New Jersey, the sophomore posted a 2-0 record with 18 strikeouts and a 1.1 WHIP, holding opposing hitters to a .159 average against. Lodgek showcased his ability on the mound in a seven-inning outing against the Bristol Blues on July 3, allowing just two hits while fanning seven batters in a win. 
 
JJ Parsons – New England Collegiate Baseball League, Vermont Mountaineers
Parsons was excellent in Vermont ahead of his third season at UNCG, catching and hitting in 27 games for the Mountaineers in the NECBL. Named to the league All-Star team, Parsons raked an impressive .353 at the plate with 14 RBIs, while also swiping 10 bases and scoring 12 times himself. The junior also drew 12 walks. 
 
Bubba Sims – Appalachian League, Burlington Sock Puppets
A freshman from Burlington, North Carolina, Sims pitched for his local side in the Appalachian League and saw action in 17.1 innings for the Sock Puppets. Appearing in 11 games, Sims logged 19 punchouts and allowed 24 hits to finish with a 1-2 record on the bump. 
 
Tanner Berry – Coastal Plains League, Wilmington Sharks
The sophomore stayed home in Wilmington, North Carolina, to play for the Sharks and appeared in 28 games both behind the dish and at the plate for the eventual CPL champions. Berry hit .253 and drew eight walks, driving in 13 RBIs and scoring 14 runs while backstopping Wilmington's pitchers to the second-best ERA in the CPL, 5.09.
 
Wyatt Bush – Coastal Plains League, Asheboro Zookeepers
Bush had a big summer down the road with the Asheboro Zookeepers heading into his sophomore season. The Englewood, Florida, native returns to Greensboro hoping to carry on his breakout form at the plate, having hit .330 at the plate in 34 CPL games. Bush notched 14 RBIs, two home runs, and scored 18 times himself while drawing 15 walks.
 
MJ Sweeney – Northwoods League, Waterloo Bucks
The transfer from Wichita State arrives in Greensboro after appearing in 44 games this summer with the Bucks, hitting .250. The senior from San Diego, California, tallied 39 hits, bringing home 35 RBIs and scoring 23 times himself. Sweeney flashed his power at the plate with five homers during the summer. 
 
Jake Mueller – Valley Baseball League, Waynesboro Generals
The senior from Cape Coral, Florida, was outstanding for the Generals, who emerged as the South Division champions in the VBL. Mueller hit a league-leading .413 at the plate in 27 games, earning a league All-Star nod and All-VBL recognition at the end of the season. Mueller drove in 31 RBIs, scored 15 runs, and smashed a pair of home runs as the Generals finished 28-14. 

Dylan Stacks – Old North State League, Cape Fear Ghost Crabs
The freshman from New Brunswick, North Carolina, stayed close to home and enjoyed a successful summer as a two-way player for the Ghost Crabs. Stacks hit .277 across 35 games, driving in 21 RBIs and walking more than he struck out, 13-12. He also posted a 3-0 record on the mound in 27 innings of work, fanning 18 batters and allowing 10 runs for a 3.00 ERA. 
 
Ethan Nobles and Nolan Winfield – Old North State League, Tarboro River Bandits
The pair of sophomores both saw action out of the bullpen for the ONSL champions, tossing a combined 20.2 innings. Winfield, a native of Greenville, North Carolina, thew 13.0 innings and posted a record of 2-0 on the bump. He notched 14 strikeouts and walked just three batters, allowing seven runs for a 4.85 ERA. Nobles, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, hurled 7.2 innings and posted a 3.52 ERA, complete with four strikeouts and three earned runs in his time on the mound. 
 
Ian Williams – Gulf Shores Collegiate League
The junior from Youngsville, North Carolina, had a breakout summer playing with the Breeze in the Gulf Shores Collegiate League. Williams slashed .417 and stole a league-high 19 bases, earning himself the nod as the GSCL MVP entering his third season with the Spartans. 

The 2026 UNCG baseball fall schedule begins on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1:00 p.m., as the Spartans host North Carolina A&T at UNCG Baseball Stadium.
