UNCG Baseball Falls on the Road at Liberty, 3-0

LYNCHBURG, VA-- Redshirt freshman Michael Solbach tossed a two-hit complete game shutout as Liberty defeat UNC Greensboro, 3-0, in a non-conference baseball game Saturday at Worthington Stadium.

Liberty improves to 22-10 on the season, while the Spartans fall to 20-11.

Solbach, the right-hander from Woodbridge, VA, struckout four batters to improve to 6-1 on the season. Nick Starnes got the loss for the Spartans. Starnes allowed three earned runs in six innings of work.

Aaron Grijalva gave Liberty a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run to left field.

Grijalva drove in the third run of the game on a sacrifice fly to right field that plated Chad Miller.

Adam Kearney went 3-for-3 to lead the Flames at the plate.

The Spartans and the Flames will play Sunday at 2 p.m. at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
