GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's basketball team (3-3) travels to USC Upstate (4-3) Tuesday night for a non-conference game. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. and fans can watch the game live on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.
Tuesday night's game marks the fifth meeting between the two with the all-time series being knotted 2-2. Last time the two met was November 20, 2014, when USC Upstate defeated the Spartans 69-60 inside Fleming Gymnasium. UNCG has won the only meeting between the two in Spartanburg, S.C.
UNCG is coming off an 81-60 win over Longwood (0-4) last Saturday. The Spartans were paced by Lucy Mason (Stone Mountain, Ga./Chamblee Charter) who led all scorers with 24 points and fellow senior Jazmine Missouri (Largo, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) had a career-best 15 points.
Mason currently leads the Southern Conference and ranks third in the nation in points per game (26.7).
Jade Scaife (Fort Washington, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had 14 points and career-high 14 rebounds for her second career double-double and first of the season. Saturday's win marked the first time since the season opener that the four or more Spartans scored in double figures in a well-rounded UNCG win.
UNCG is 3-3 on the season and will go head-to-head with a 4-3 USC-Upstate squad that returns home from a three-game road stretch Tuesday night. USC Upstate's most recent outing was a 59-68 loss at UNC Asheville.
