New Orleans, La. – The UNCG women's basketball team heads south to New Orleans where they will play three non-conference games before returning home to Fleming Gymnasium December 28.
After almost a week's rest, the Spartans return to the hardwood Thursday, at the University of New Orleans for an 11 am (CT) game against the Privateers (3-4). UNCG (4-6) is looking to rebound from a 95-52 loss on the road at UNC Asheville (7-1) December 10.

UNCG's senior guard Lucy Mason (Stone Mountain, Ga./Chamblee Charter) continues to impress as she leads the Southern Conference and ranks third in the nation in with 24.5 points per game. Mason also leads the SoCon in steals (26), steals per game (2.6) and also leads the nation in field goal attempts with 206.
Junior India Timpton (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) leads the Spartans and is tied for third in rebounds per game (8.3) in the SoCon. Her 4.3 offensive rebounds per game leads the league as well.
New Orleans is coming off a 97-59 loss at Ole Miss (6-4) Monday night. Randi Brown is pacing the Privateers with 16.9 points per game connecting on just 29.6 percent of her shots from the field.
Thursday's game marks the first regular-season meeting between the two teams in program history.
UNCG following Thursday's game, the Spartans will have two days rest before playing in the Tulane University Invitational.
