WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The UNCG men and women's track & field program wrapped up competition at the JDL College Kickoff Classic, today at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.

On the men's side, sophomore Jevon Neal set the tone for the Spartans, winning his heat in the 800m race at 2:00.27. Teammate and fellow sophomore, Cameron Belk came in right behind him in second at 2:01.26 for a new personal best. Running in his first 800m event since 2017, senior Trelek Jones set a personal best of 2:01.96. 

For the women, junior Ariana Garcia competed in the 800m for the first time in her collegiate career. She crossed the line with a time 2:27.38, good for sixth place. 

Up next, the Spartans are back at it tomorrow in Winston-Salem for the Early Bird Duals inside JDL Fast Track.
