Southern Miss Slips Past UNCG Men's Tennis

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Southern Miss men's tennis team emerged with a 4-0 clinch match victory over UNC Greensboro on Thursday, March 14, earning its fifth win of the season.

The Golden Eagles (5-5) opened the day with a doubles 6-3 victory by Matthieu Peres / Youssef Tamimount, who downed the Spartans' (3-7) tandem Roger Rogowski / Ian Melnik. That was quickly followed by Jorman Reyes / Ronit Bisht claiming a 6-4 victory against the duo of Ollie Palmer / Nico Grewe.

Southern Miss added their second point of the match in singles when Mieszko Kwasniewski posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over fellow No. 6 Copper Wyett.

The third point come by virtue of Reyes' second win of the day, as he edged Palmer 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in a tightly-contested battle of No. 2 seeds.

Bisht brought home the victory for the Golden Eagles with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 triumph against Grewe in the clash of No. 1 seeds.

UNCG returns to the court on Saturday, March 16 when the Spartans head to Greenville, S.C., to take on Furman at 1 p.m. The Spartans will remain in the Upstate to face Presbyterian on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m.
