CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - UNCG track and field turns in 10 top-10 individual performances at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge this Saturday, competing in six events on the North Carolina Chapel Hill campus.
Taylor Delaney took a top-five finish in the women's 800m after running to a time of 2:26.59, followed close behind by teammate Chandler MCaslin (2:27.29) in sixth.
Three Spartan men turned in sub-54 times in the 400m, led by
Joe Thoma's 53.68, who took ninth among the field. Staying on the men's side,
Jevon Neal ran a 2:01.57 in the 800m, while freshman
Michael Zapherson competed in his first 800m since joining the Spartans this past offseason.
26 UNCG athletes competed across six competitions overall, with multiple athletes making debuts in new events. Ths Spartans will get back to work in just a week's time, going back to JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem for the January College Kick-Off.
