GREENSBORO, N.C.  – UNCG baseball opens its home schedule against Fairfield this Saturday, hosting the Stags for a noon doubleheader, before a game three matchup on Sunday at 12 p.m. The pair's originally scheduled Friday contest was pushed to the following day after an influx of winter weather in the Triad region, while the Spartans were already forced to postpone their Tuesday game at Wake Forest after five innings of competition, due to rain.Â
Barring their competition in Winston-Salem, UNCG is coming off a 2-1 opening weekend after defeating San Diego State and Virginia Tech at the Coastal Carolina-hosted 'Battle at the Beach' tournament. This Saturday will be the Stags' season opener, as the Connecticut-based program will be staying down in North Carolina for the next two weeks.Â
