Belton has a rich tennis tradition, and this is a great addition to our annual tournament schedule. Geographically we're in the middle of the Southern Conference schools, so this is a great place for the teams to gather and the players to compete.
"It will be a totally different atmosphere than they experience when playing on campuses. We wish we had every team participating, but you have to start somewhere. We plan to make it a special event so everyone will want to be here next year. We invite fans to come out, wear their school colors, cheer on their team and watch top-level college tennis!"
The Belton Tennis Association hosts a number of tournaments each year, including the Palmetto Championships for junior players, the Hall of Fame Classic for high school girls and the South Carolina Men's Collegiate Championships. Belton is also the home of the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame, which is located in the Historic BeltonTrain Depot across the street from the Belton Tennis Center.
The Southern Conference is a premier mid-major conference which fosters a competitive athletic environment, promotes academic achievement and insures student-athlete well-being. The Conference was established in 1921 and is celebrating its 100
