HIGH POINT, N.C. - UNCG track completes the second and final day of this year's High Point University VertKlasse Meeting on Friday, with eight Spartans competing in the men's and women's 800m events.
Junior
Joe Thoma led the way for the Spartan men with a new personal record in the event. He crossed the finish line in 1:55.11 to take fourth amongst the field and secure the fifth-fastest time in the Southern Conference this outdoor season.
Nicholas Thoma came in a few seconds off the pace of his brother with a time of 1:57.23. Four Spartan men turned in sub-two minute times in High Point.
On the women's side
Shay Soukup and
Kassidy Dill both competed in the 800m, led by Soukup's 2:25.56.
The Spartans will stay in the Triad area next week with a trip to East Greensboro on April 10th. They wil compete in the NC A&T-hosted Aggie Invitational at Irwin Belk Track, before traveling to Cullowhee, N.C. for the Catamount Classic the following weekend.Â
