HOW'S THEIR FORM?
-- The Spartans are 9-2 since April 20th, starting off that current run of play with a seven-game win streak. The side has won three straight SoCon series against The Citadel, Western Carolina and ETSU, sweeping the Bucs in a Saturday doubleheader to clinch the weekend
-- After taking the weekend off, the Tar Heels are looking for a second straight win after defeating Campbell 9-3 last Tuesday, however that result came following a five-game losing streak

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- First baseman Josh Madole extended his hitting streak to seven straight games this weekend against ETSU. The junior missed game one due to a day-to-day injury but came back with three-hit and two-hit performances against the Bucs in a Saturday doubleheader. Madole is averaging .517 (15-for-29) during his current hitting streak while driving in an average of 1.6 runs per contest
-- The ability to hit for extra bases has aided the Spartans in their current run of play. After collecting 87 XBH through the first 34 games of the games of the season (2.6 per game), they have 37 through their past 11 (3.4 per game) while hitting one home run per contest
-- Lefty reliever Price King turned in a career day against ETSU this past Friday. Despite his team taking the loss, King tossed the final 6.2 innings of that game without surrendering a run and gave up just three hits and a walk. The southpaw's 6.2 IP and 87 pitches were both a career-high as a Spartan, striking out a personal best six Buc batters on the night

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA
-- Sophomores Caleb Roberts and Danny Serretti are the only Tar Heels to play all 42 games of UNC's season in 2021, and are tied for a team lead with 29 RBI on the year. Roberts leads North Carolina with nine home runs, followed closely by Serretti at seven, while Justice Thompson ranks third with six of his own. Thompson, another sophomore, has started 41 games for UNC this season and holds a team best .325 average
-- Nik Pry is the only arm on the Tar Heel roster to make more appearances than Tuesday starter Shawn Rapp. Pry has a UNC best three saves on the year, while Rapp holds a 10.8 K/9 this year. Only Pry and starter Austin Love (71.2 IP) have more strikeouts than Rapp's 34 this year

SERIES HISTORY
-- UNCG is 6-18 against UNC all-time, first playing the Tar Heels in 1992
-- The Spartans took a 12-5 loss to North Carolina in their past meeting, in early March of 2020 when the Tar Heels were No. 25 in the nation. The last time UNCG took a decision against their in-state foes was back in 2015, a 5-3 win in Chapel Hill
