GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team (1-1-0) continues its non-conference schedule as it welcomes Liberty University on Thursday to UNCG Soccer Stadium.
The Spartans then turn around and travel to Richmond, Virginia to play Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) on Sunday, August 28 with a start time of 6:30 p.m.
UNCG SOCCER STADIUM INFORMATION
Gate entry:
Fans should enter at the main gate into the soccer stadium located off of West Drive below the tennis courts. Gates are open to fans one hour prior to the start of the match.
Parking:
Parking is free in the Walker Deck one hour prior to the start of the match. Fans parking in the Walker Deck should follow West Drive down to the main entrance of the soccer stadium.
Food and Beverages:
No outside food and drink are permitted in the soccer stadium. A sealed water bottle is permitted. A variety of food and drinks will be sold at the concessions stand on the soccer concourse. Concessions are CASHLESS - payment options include Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
SPARTANS' LAST TIME OUT
- UNCG battled No. 2 Duke on Sunday, August 21, and fell 3-1.
- This was the first road contest this season for the Spartans and the first top-10 opponent since UNCG faced No. 3 South Carolina in 2018 during the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
- Senior Maddy Gilhool scored the lone goal for the Spartans, her first of the season and sixth of her career.
- Freshman Sophie Joly tallied her first-collegiate assist.
- Senior Abby Buchholz and freshman Emma Malone split time between the posts as they combined for six saves.
SPARTANS VS. HOME OPENERS
- UNCG defeated the Charlotte 49ers, 2-1, in its home opener on August 18 in com-from-behind style.
- This was the first time since the 2018 schedule that the Spartans won their home opener.
- The Spartans' two goals came from freshman Ryen Ortiz.
- Ortiz is the first Spartan to score two goals in a game since Nicole Souply scored twice on October 25, 2019. Gabi Santora and Cienna Rideout also scored twice during the 2019 season.

- Junior Caroline Woods led the 2021 team with four goals and one assist for nine points, making her way to the All-Conference second team.
