Southing the Catamounts

• Pascanel Ferreras is leading the Catamounts with a .346 batting average, going 27-for-78, with 18 RBIs, and four doubles.
• Brandon Butterworth is nationally 15^th and first in the conference in triples (3), and 40^th in the nation in triples per game (0.14).

Series History
These two teams have played each other eighty times since 1992 with a record of 37-43.  Last season UNCG sweep the series against Western Carolina winning, 8-2, 5-3, and 16-13. The Spartans then defeated the Catamounts in the SoCon Tournament, 9-7, where UNCG went on to win the title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
