Baseball Releases 2024 Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team and Interim Head Coach Cody Ellis have announced the 2024 schedule on Wednesday.
 
The Spartans finished the 2023 season with a 25-34 overall record and 9-12 in The Southern Conference (SoCon). UNCG concluded the season in the semifinal round of the SoCon Tournament, falling to No. 1 Samford, 9-5.

"We have put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge us from a regional and national perspective," said Coach Ellis. "This gives us the chance to rise to the challenge week in and week out, ultimately preparing us for a Southern Conference Championship."

QUICK FACTS
  • 55 regular season matches: 33 home & 22 away.
  • Non-conference opponents' breakdown: MAAC (2), ACC (3), AEC (1), CAA (2), Big South (4), American (1), Sun Belt (1).
  • UNCG will begin the season with 11-straight home games by hosting Fairfield, Binghamton and Canisius for three-game series and taking on Wake Forest and Elon for single games.
  • The Spartans open the season with Fairfield for a three-game series from Feb. 16-18 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
  • The squad will next hit the road for 10-straight away games with a series at Clemson and South Florida and single games at NC State and NC A&T.
  • The Blue & Gold will go up against four teams that made appearances in the 2023 NCAA Tournament including, Wake Forest, Clemson, NC State, and Coastal Carolina.
  • UNCG will host one power-five conference opponent as NC State travels to Greensboro on March 26.
  • The farthest the team will travel this season is to Tampa, Fla from March 15-17 to take on South Florida.
  • The Spartans will begin their SoCon slate by hosting Mercer from March 22-24. The last time UNCG and Mercer competed was in the 2023 SoCon Tournament when the Spartans defeated the Bears, 9-5.
  • UNCG will close out SoCon action with the 2023 SoCon Champions, Samford from May 10-12 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium. Samford was the last team the Spartans played in 2023, falling 9-5 in the conference tournament.
  • The Spartans will conclude the 2023 regular season by hosting a couple of non-conference opponents. First, with a single game against NC A&T on May 14 and then by welcoming USC Upstate in a series from May 16-18.
  • The SoCon Baseball Tournament will take place from May 22-26 in Greenville, South Carolina at Fluor Field.
