GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will continue at the UNCG Baseball Stadium by hosting Binghamton in a weekend series from Friday, Feb. 23 to Sunday, Feb. 25.
All regular season baseball home games are free admission. Concessions will not be open and outside food is permitted. Concessions will open March 22 during the Mercer series and outside food will not be permitted when concessions open. All weekday home games (not including Friday) will be Bark in the Park games, where spectators can bring their dogs.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNCG is off to a dominating start to the 2024 season after a weekend series sweep over Fairfield and then most recently claiming a 4-3 victory over No. 1 Wake Forest at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
- The 4-0 start to the 2024 season is the best start for UNCG since 2013, when the team also started out 4-0.
- Caleb Cozart was named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Week and the Perfect Game Player of the Week after hitting four home runs in the series against Fairfield. His four homers, currently puts him at second place nationally. In addition, Cozart is sixth nationally with 11 RBI.
- The Spartans are ranked seventh nationally with 13 HBP.
- Grant Aycock and Luke Thomas are in a seven-way tie at 11th place nationally with one save apiece.
- UNCG is tied with 38 teams with a perfect record, one being SoCon foe, Samford.
- UNCG was tabbed to finish sixth in the 2024 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Rob Ready was named to the Preseason All-SoCon second team.
- The Spartans finished the 2023 season with a 25-34 overall record and 9-12 in SoCon play to earn the sixth spot in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll. UNCG concluded the season in the semifinal round of the SoCon Tournament, falling to No. 1 Samford, 9-5.
- The Spartans welcome 22 newcomers for the 2024 season; 10 transfers and 12 freshmen.
- 18 Spartans return from last season for UNCG.
- Jay Miller returns as the leading pitcher for the Spartans after totaling 50 strikeouts last season.
- Mitchell Smith stands out as a key hitter for the Spartans swinging .357 at the plate last season.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- The Spartans never allowed the Demon Deacons to lead in Tuesday's game.
- According to our records, Tuesday's win was the second time the Spartans have defeated a No. 1 team when UNCG upset No. 1 North Carolina 7-6 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium on April 18, 2006. In addition, this is first win over Wake Forest since March, 26, 2019, when the Spartans defeated the Demon Deacons, 9-5 in Greensboro.
- The last time the Spartans earned a victory over a ranked opponent was on March 16, 2021 against No. 13 Virginia Tech, 7-2 in Blacksburg, Va.
- Winning pitcher, Noah Chapman recorded three strikeouts in his 2.2 innings only giving up one hit.
- The Spartans had four RBI, while the Deacs had three.
- UNCG had four batters hit by pitches in the contest.
- The Spartans pitching staff allowed only four hits on the day by the Demon Deacons.
- This is the least amount of hits allowed by the Spartans since Feb. 25, 2023 when UNCG gave up just three hits against Notre Dame in a 12-0 win.
SCOUTING THE BINGHAMTON BEARCATS
- Binghamton comes to Greensboro 0-3 after dropping a three-game series at Houston in its opening weekend.
- The Bearcats closed out the series dropping a 7-0 contest to the Cougars.
- On the weekend, the Bearcats pitching staff posted a 5.63 ERA and 24 strikeouts against the Big 12 member Cougars.
- The Bearcats are 21st nationally with two triples this season and 19th with a 0.67 triples per game average.
- Mike Gunning and Andrew Tan are currently ninth nationally with one triple apiece.
- Nick Roselli is leading the team with four RBI.
- Devan Bade is pacing the Bearcats with four hits.
- The Bearcats return 18 letterwinners from the 2023 season.
- Binghamton was picked to finish first in the 2024 America East Coaches' Preseason Poll after earning five of seven first place votes.
