LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- The Spartans went 2-1 in a Southern Conference (SoCon) series against ETSU from Thursday to Saturday at the UNCG Baseball Stadium this past week.
- UNCG claimed the first two games, but ETSU was able to come away with the win on Saturday to keep the Spartans from earning the sweep.
- Luke Holland and Caleb Cozart led the Spartans with two home runs apiece over the weekend series.
- As a team, UNCG had five homers alone in the first game of the series, getting past the Bucs, 10-8.
- Thursday's five homers was the first time that the Spartans have had five home runs in a single game since May 3, 2008. During that season, the team had five against College of Charleston winning 12-9 on May 3, 2008, and then five on April 12, 2008 in a 16-9 win over Wofford.

- Jeremy Wolf stands out at eighth nationally with a 0.70 average in stolen bases per game. Wolf is perfect with a 15-15 record in stealing bases.
- Rob Ready is only one of three players in the SoCon to have pitched a complete game.
- Ready was named the SoCon Pitcher of the Week last Monday after throwing for a complete game with a career high nine strikeouts in game two against Mercer.
- Cozart stands out at sixth nationally with 12 home runs and is fifth with a 0.57 home runs per game average. In addition, he is 25th in the country with a 1.48 RBI average.
- Cozart was named the SoCon Player of the Week and the Perfect Game Player of the Week after hitting four home runs in the season opening series against Fairfield.
- Julien Peissel was selected as the SoCon Pitcher of the Week after starting off on the mound in UNCG's win over No. 1 Wake Forest on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Peissel is leading the team on the mound with 31 strikeouts.
- UNCG was tabbed to finish sixth in the 2024 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Ready was named to the Preseason All-SoCon second team.
- The Spartans finished the 2023 season with a 25-34 overall record and 9-12 in SoCon play to earn the sixth spot in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll. UNCG concluded the season in the semifinal round of the SoCon Tournament, falling to No. 1 Samford, 9-5.

SERIES HISTORY VS THE DEMON DEACONS
UNCG is 17-48 in the overall series against Wake Forest. In the two team's most recent meeting, the Spartans claimed the victory over then ranked No. 1 Wake Forest earlier this season at the UNCG Baseball Stadium. It was only the second time the Spartans have defeated a No. 1 team in program history. The Spartans never allowed the Demon Deacons to lead in the game.
