Baeumken Sits in Tie for Second after Round One at Evie Odom Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team sits in 9th place after one round of action on Thursday at the Evie Odom Invitational at Princess Anne Golf Course in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  

TEAM   

  • UNCG carded a 17-over-par (297) in the first round of play.   

  • As a team, the Spartans recorded six birdies and 60 pars, which is third in the tournament, on the day.   

  • Georgia is leading the 12-team leaderboard with a five-over par (285).  

INDIVIDUAL   

  • Julia Baeumken paces the Spartans with a one-under-par (69) and is in a tie for second place. She is third in the tournament in par fours with a 3.75 stroke average.   

  • Lulu Leetham follows closely behind in a tie for 15th, carding a two-over-par (72).  

  • Both Kasey McIlvaine and Elle Burnette sit in a tie for 28th place, both turning in a four-over par (74) performance after round one.
