GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia, to take on the Liberty Flames at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. In the previous matchup, the Flames took the narrow, 12-10, win over the Spartans at UNCG Baseball Stadium on March 10. 

 LAST TIME OUT       

• The Spartans went 1-2 against The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe ETSU this past weekend.  

• Luke Holland hit this past week with five hits in 12 at-bats and four RBIs.  

• Noah Chapman took the win in game one on Friday against ETSU, going seven innings with eight strikeouts. 

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS          

• The Spartans enter the midweek contest 11-14 overall and 4-5 in road contests.       

• UNCG is nationally ranked in: triples (3rd/11), triples per game (5th/ 0.55), sacrifice flies (8th/18) and stolen bases (32nd/ 51).  

• Jacob Budzik leads the team and is ranked 60th in the nation in doubles with nine. He also ranks first in the SoCon in triples with three.    

• Jake Mueller leads the team in hits and RBIs, with 33 and 19, respectively.   

• Chapman is one of the premier arms in the SoCon. He leads the team and the conference in stakeouts with 37.  

• Out of the bullpen, Ayden West has been dominant with no runs allowed in the past five appearances.  

• The Spartans were voted to finish fifth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.                      

• UNCG concluded the 2025 season with a 21-33 overall record and went 9-12 in SoCon play.           

• Head Coach Cody Ellis enters his third season at the helm of the Spartans, guiding them to a 65-68 record during his time.           

SCOUTING THE FLAMES  

• The Flames welcome the Spartans with a 15-6 overall record and 9-5 record at home.  

• Liberty is ranked nationally in: triples (10th/9), triples per game (15th/0.39), WHIP (15th/1.28) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (37th/2.71).  

• Starting pitcher Ben Blair is the ace of the staff with only six earned runs allowed in 35 innings pitched.  

• The offense is led by Tanner Marsh with a .327 batting average, 32 hits and 15 RBIs.   

• Head Coach Bradley LeCroy enters his fourth season as head of the program with a 108-88 record.

The series is tied 2-2, with Liberty taking the most recent matchup this season with a 12-10 victory in Greensboro on March 10.
