GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will take on Quinnipiac in a three-game series from Friday to Sunday at UNCG Baseball Stadium. Game one will begin Friday at 4:00 p.m. with game two starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and closing on Sunday with game three at 1:00 p.m.  

 LAST TIME OUT   

• The Spartans defeated Greensboro rival North Carolina A&T, 13-1, at First Bank National Field on Tuesday.  

• Brantley Truitt led the team with four runs scored tonight.   

• Dilley's tallied four RBIs in the game, which is the most in a single game since Luke Jenkins' had five against The Citadel on April 4, 2025. 

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS      

• The Spartans enter the series 5-8 overall.   

• UNCG swept Canisius from Feb. 20-22, which is the first series sweep at UNCG Baseball Stadium since April 13, 2025.    

• The Spartans captured their first win of the 2026 season, taking down rival N.C. A&T, 4-3, on Feb. 18.     

• UNCG is nationally ranked in: triples (1st/7), triples per game (6th/ 0.54), stolen bases (43rd/26) and doubles plays (55th/10).   

• Dilley has been one of the best hitters in The Southern Conference (SoCon), hitting .444 with 20 base knocks, which is third and tied first in the league, respectively.  He also drove in nine RBIs this season. 

• Jacob Budzik leads the team and is ranked 39th in the nation in doubles with six.  

• Freshman Ethan Brittain has been a spark plug since entering the lineup at shortstop, batting .286 with five runs scored and five RBIs in six games started.   

• Freshman Thomas Hester is 29th in the nation in saves this season with two.   

• UNCG has sent seventeen pitchers to the mound so far this season, with three of those pitchers not allowing an earned run. 

• The Spartans were voted to finish fifth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.          

• Junior left-handed pitcher Noah Chapman was named to the Preseason All-SoCon Second Team ahead of the season after throwing 68.1 innings with a 5.14 ERA in 21 appearances in 2025.       

• UNCG concluded the 2025 season with a 21-33 overall record and went 9-12 in SoCon play.       

• Head Coach Cody Ellis enters his third season at the helm of the Spartans, guiding them to a 59-62 record during his time.       

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS 

• Quinnipiac is 2-7 with wins over Old Dominion and the University of North Florida.  

• Most recently, theB obcats were swept by fellow SoCon school ETSU last weekend.  

• The Bobcats were picked to finish third in the MAAC Preseason Poll. 

• Kyle Darbowski is the most dangerous hitter in the lineup, batting .324 with 12 hits and three stolen bases.  

• The pitching staff is led by Matt Alduino who has a 3.52 ERA in 7.2 innings pitched.  

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE BOBCATS 
UNCG leads the series 2-0 against Quinnipiac, with the Spartans winning the only series played back in 2019.
