HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fought back in game two and got the win against non-conference opponent Northern Kentucky, 17–6, at Bill Aker Baseball Complex on Saturday afternoon. Freshmen Ethan Brittain and Tanner Berry combined for nine RBIs in the contest.

The Norse jumped on the board quickly in the first inning with an RBI single to put the score at 1-0. However, starter John Horton shut down the Northern Kentucky offense the rest of the way, going five innings with eight hits allowed to go along with five walks and seven strikeouts. UNCG got the offense going in the second inning with a Berry two RBI triple to give the Spartans the 2-1 lead. Brantley Truitt drove Berry in with a RBI single and Brittain capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly to put the score at 4-1.

The Blue and Gold busted the game open in the third frame, as Berry struck again with a two RBI double. Luke Jenkins continued the hot hitting with an RBI single to extend the lead to 7-1. Truitt and Brittain drove in an RBI single apiece to end the inning at 9-1. The scoring barrage continued in the fifth with Jake Mueller bashing his second home run of the series, fifth of the season, over right field. The trio of Jenkins, Truitt and Brittain struck again as they each pushed across an RBI for the 14-1 advantage. The Norse answered back with a five-run fifth of their own to cut the lead to 14-6. However, the Spartan bats were undaunted as Berry and Jenkins mashed in another RBI each, their fifth and third of the day respectively, for a 16-6 scoreline. UNCG added one more run in the seventh to bring the game to the final score of 17-6.
