SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Senior Monique Floyd was named to the 10-member All-Southern Conference Team by the league's 11 head coaches, while teammate Janae' Stevenson was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Tuesday.
On Monday, Floyd was named second-team All-SoCon by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association, while Stevenson took All-Freshman honors from the organization.
Floyd is averaging a team-best 13.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Spartans this season, both career highs. Her scoring average is eighth in the league, while she is tied for 15th in the SoCon in rebounding. She is fourth in the conference in offensive rebounds with 2.8 per game and 13th in assists with 2.9 per contest. Her 48.6 field goal percentage is seventh in the SoCon and her 1.8 steals per game are eighth in the league.
The guard from Fairmont, N.C., surpassed 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for her career this season, becoming the first player in UNCG's Division I history to log 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists and 175 steals in her career.
The SoCon Player of the Month for December, Floyd has scored in double figures in 23 of UNCG's 28 games so far this season. She has posted career highs in points and rebounds this season, scoring 27 points against Georgia Southern on Feb. 5 and pulling down 11 rebounds against the Lady Eagles on Jan. 5.

Floyd is the only player on the UNCG roster with more assists than turnovers, and her 81 assists are a career high, while the 48 turnovers are a career low. With 51 steals to her credit this season, she is just two shy of the career high she set last season.
Floyd's name can be found in the top 10 of several UNCG career categories. She currently sits ninth in steals (187), sixth in free throw attempts (409), seventh in free throw makes (253) and tied for third in games played (119).
The All-SoCon honor is the latest in a long line of them for Floyd this season. In addition to being the SoCon Player of the Month, Floyd was the league's player of the week on Dec. 28 and the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week on Dec. 15 and Jan. 19. Floyd was also a second-team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection.
The 2008-09 SoCon Defensive Player of the Year, Floyd was an all-freshman selection in 2007-08.
Floyd is UNCG's first coaches all-conference selection since Kristen Boone and Jasmine Byrd in 2006-07.
Stevenson has turned in an outstanding freshman campaign, averaging 7.5 points and a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game. She is on pace to become the first freshman to finish the season as UNCG's leading rebounder since Melinda Goodson in 1996-97.
The rookie from Columbia, S.C., has posted a team-best four double-doubles on the season and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds on three occasions. She is sixth in the league in offensive rebounds (2.4 per game) and 11th in defensive rebounds (4.3 per game).
Stevenson is sixth in the SoCon in total rebounding and tops among freshman. She has blocked a team-best 35 shots this season, a UNCG freshman record. Her 1.3 blocks per game are also sixth-most in the SoCon and most by any league freshman.
She scored a career-high 14 points with 10 rebounds in just her third collegiate game, against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 26 at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa Thanksgiving Tournament en route to all-tournament honors. Late in the season, she exploded for 49 rebounds in four games, pulling down a career-high 15 at Elon on Feb. 10 and matching that feat two days later against College of Charleston
Stevenson matched her career highs with 14 points and 15 boards against Samford on Feb. 21, giving her exactly 15 rebounds three times in four games.
She becomes just UNCG's fifth-ever all-freshman selection and the first selected by the coaches since Floyd in 2007-08.
UNCG finished the regular season 13-15 overall and 10-10 in the SoCon, tied for fifth in the league with Furman. The Spartans lost the tiebreaker with the Paladins, earning the sixth seed and a date with No. 11 seed Wofford in the first round of the Southern Conference Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Thursday. That contest will be the third of the day and will begin at approximately 6 p.m.
Appalachian State's Sam Ramirez was chosen as the SoCon Player of the Year, while Davidson's Laura Murray was named Freshman of the Year. Third-year App coach Darcie Vincent took her second straight SoCon Coach of the Year honor after leading the Mountaineers to a 23-5 overall record and a regular-season league title at 17-3 in conference play. App's Anna Freeman was voted the Defensive Player of the Year and Chattanooga's Bailey Dewart earned the Ann Lashley Inspiration Award.
