Series History

-- UNCG scored 25 runs over those three games in 2018, combining for five home runs against the Mountaineer pitching staff

Five Facts To Know
-- The Spartans are off to one of their best starts in the past decade, with their 6-1 record tying their best since 2012. A sweep of the Mountaineers this weekend would put UNCG at 9-1, tying their best start since the side went 12-1 to open the 2003 campaign
-- Left-hander Jake Lewis and righty Austin Parsley combined for the first no-hitter in Spartan history last Friday, surrendering just a single batter on a walk during a 1-0 walk-off win over Fairfield
-- With six stolen bases on the year, shortstop Zack Budzik currently ranks third in the Southern Conference and 13th in all of Division I baseball
-- The Spartan defense has held their opponents to just 1.75 runs per game over the past five contests. UNCG's 2.47 BB/9 and .985 fielding percentage both rank 21st in the nation so far this year
-- Left fielder Greg Hardison has started the season on a seven-game hitting streak, while third baseman Caleb Webster is slashing .370/.433/.667 to begin the year

The Mountaineers
-- The Mountaineers aren't afraid to play small ball in 2020, ranking 12th in the country in sacrifice bunts and 33rd in sac flies
-- Junior Andrew Greckel hit a home run in ASU's win over Wake Forest this midweek. He's slashing a team-best .294/.480/.647 with two homers and four RBI

Coming Up Next
UNCG preps for yet another ACC matchup in the midweek, traveling to Chapel Hill to play against No. 20 North Carolina. The Spartans are 6-17 against the Tar Heels all-time, falling to UNC on the road last April.
