SCOUTING THE MOCS
  • Last week in the Mocs' three-set defeat at Samford, second-year middle blocker, Kate Neill tied the program record for hitting percentage in a single match, hitting .750 with 10 kills and one error on 12 swings. The record was set back in 1989 as Vanessa Pritchett hit .750 vs. Bryan College with nine kills in 12 attempts.
  • Chattanooga enters the second half of Southern Conference action with a 2-6 record in league play. The Mocs defeated Samford and Furman both in come-from-behind fashion. UTC leads the league in digs per set in conference play with 19.07 and is fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.207).
  • The Mocs and the Spartans met to kick off SoCon play on Sept. 24. The Spartans swept the Mocs in Maclellan Gym after winning a tight 27-25 first set. Both teams hit over .200 in the match and combined for nine aces and 12 blocks. UNCG's Kayla White led the match with 12 kills, while the Spartans' Grey Breen hit. 438. SCOUTING THE BUCS
  • Senior Sara Esposito has been resurgent over the last two-plus weeks, including a career-high 22 kills against The Citadel that garnered her SoCon Offensive Player of the Week. The senior has two career matches of 20+ kills, both of which have come against the Citadel. Esposito is second on the team in kills (196) and aces (19). Esposito is 12 kills away from surpassing 700 in her four-year career.
  • Taylor Roberts has also made a quick impact, leading the Bucs with 272 digs and 4.18 d/set, on-pace for career-highs after three seasons at Florida State.
  • Freshman Caroline Dykes has acted as ETSU's top setter with 569 assists and 8.75 a/set. Dykes was awarded back-to-back SoCon Setter of the Week awards at the end of September.
  • Coach Jenkins enters year three of leading the Bucs volleyball program, and Tuesday's victory over Chattanooga marked her 40th career win.
