LYNCHBURG, Va. - Dylan Christopher and
Thomas Knepshield finish one and two among college-attached runners in the 3000m this Saturday, as UNCG track completes the second and final day of the 7th Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational.
The Spartans' afternoon began in the 800m, where they had four men's runners turn in sub-two minute times. Senior
Weston Clayton led the charge with a time of 1:57.23, as the seventh runner representing their university to cross the finish line. Teammates
Joe Thoma and
Matthew Bauer weren't far behind with times of 1:57.35 and 1:57.99 respectively, with the latter making his debut in the event.
Another senior represented the Spartans on the women's side, as
Kassidy Dill set a new indoor personal best with a time of 2:23.81.
UNCG's final event of the day came in the 3000m where
Dylan Christopher tallied the top college-attached time of the event. Christopher finished with a new personal record of 8:37.85, while teammate Knepshield was next to come across at 8:39.47. Knepshield completed his 3000m less than 24 hours removed from turning in one of the top Spartan 5000m meter performances of the past decade (14:54.21) the night before, collecting new PRs in both events on the weekend.

The Spartans prepare for their second and final scheduled meet of the regular season next week, running at nearby JDL Fast Track for the Camel City Invitational from February 19-20th. UNCG competed in six meets at the same Winston-Salem venue just the previous year
