GREENSBORO, N.C.  – UNCG baseball (2-1, 0-0) looks to continue the win streak it started last weekend against Elon, while facing NC State (2-0, 0-0) in Raleigh this Tuesday. The Wolfpack were ranked as high as No. 12 in the latest national rankings, and No. 13 in the preseason D1baseball top-25.

State will be the first of four power-five opponents the Spartans will meet in 2021 and one of two scheduled opponents currently in the top-25. UNCG will play a three-game series at No. 19 Tennessee starting March 12th, before facing Virginia Tech the following Tuesday (March 16th) later this year.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- The Spartans stole 10 bases over their three games against Elon, getting caught three times. Zack Budzik was a perfect 4-for-4 when swiping a bag over the weekend, and his .538 slugging currently leads the UNCG roster
-- Redshirt senior Jack Voigt earned a win in the Spartans' series-deciding finale on Sunday. The lefty made two appearances on the weekend, combining for 4.0 innings of shutout relief, striking out seven and surrendering just two baserunners in that span
-- 2020 Freshman All-American Pres Cavenaugh has picked up right where he left off from last season, slashing .400/.571/.500 over three games against the Phoenix. He drew four walks, with four hits and a double, stealing a base in his lone attempt of the weekend

SCOUTING NC STATE
-- The NC State pitching staff held the Wildcats to just .190 hitting over their two games, with Davidson collecting a dozen hits and just five walks 
-- While the season is still young, the Wolfpack have five players in their lineup hitting .400 or better. Junior infielder J.T. Jarrett leads the pack with five hits against Davidson (.556), while slugging .667
