Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Concludes Regular Season at Hokie Open

BLACKSBURG, VA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's and women's cross country teams sent eight individuals to the Hokie Open, hosted by Virginia Tech Friday afternoon.
 
The Hokie Open took place at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
 
Men
Freshman Lane Prochaska placed 26th out of 35 competitors with a time of 21:06.5 in his first six-kilometer race of the season. This was his third-collegiate race.
 
Classmate Andrew Hamilton finished 28th in the race with a time of 21:53.5 during his first-collegiate race.
 
Freshman Charlie Bennett placed 32nd with a time of 22:12.2 in his third-collegiate race and first six-kilometer course.
 
Women
Senior Chandler McCaslin finished 17th out of 27 competitors with a time of 16:33.0 in her third four-kilometer race of her career.
 
Sophomores Bella Manfre and Serena Henderson followed immediately after McCaslin in 18th and 19th, respectively. Manfre finished in 16:50.5 in her second four-kilometer race of her career, while Henderson ran a time of 16:53.4 in her first-kilometer race.
 
Freshman Kaitlyn Harrison clocked in a time of 17.22.4, taking 21st place in her third-collegiate race, her first four-kilometer race.
 
UP NEXT
The Spartans follow up this race with the NCAA Southeast Regionals hosted by the University of Louisville on Friday, November 11 at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The women's six-kilometer race will kick off at 11:00 a.m. and the men's 10-kilometer race will begin at noon.  
 
The top two teams and the first four finishers in the race not associated with those two teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, held November 19 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
