Spartans Set For High Point Series Finale

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team looks to stretch its win streak with a mid-week game against the High Point Panthers tomorrow at Willard Stadium.
 
The first pitch between the two clubs is set for 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- UNCG is coming off a 2-1 series win over the Longwood Lancers.
--The Spartans clinched the series on Sunday with a 17-2 win that ended in the seventh inning.
--The 17 runs scored were the third-most runs UNCG has scored in the last five seasons.
--Pres Cavenaugh had a .750 batting average on Sunday with three hits including a career-high six RBIs.
--As a team, the Spartans had 18 hits, including six doubles, which is a season-high this year.
--Matt Kemp is on an eight-game hitting streak. In four of the eight games, he had multi-hit performances.
--One of his at-bats produced a homerun.
--Hogan Windish is also on a hitting streak that stretches six games. He has two home runs, including the game-tying run against Longwood on Saturday.
--He continues to lead the team with five home runs.
--Greg Hardison is two hits away from 200 in his career. He has 39 this season.
--Zack Budzik has reached base in 25 of the 28 games this season.
--He has 44 stolen bases in his career which moves him to ninth in the UNCG record books. He is currently tied with Kenny Vawter (1997-98).
--Alex Hoppe has struck out at least three batters in 10 of his 13 appearances. For the other three, he has struck out at least one.

--The Panthers are coming off a 15-5 loss at USC-Upstate on Sunday.
--Cole Singsank leads the team with 19 runs, four of which are home runs.
--Payton Carr has 28 hits and 20 RBI's on the season which leads the team.
--David Keith has an 11.09 ERA and has struck out 16 batters.
--Teddy Merritt leads the team with 41 strikeouts.
--Everett Vaughan has four saves this season.
