SPARTANBURG, S.C.- UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball second baseman, Hogan Windish, and right-handed pitcher, Alex Hoppe, earned the title of coaches Southern Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year, while Hoppe was also named the media Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year, the league announced on Tuesday.
 
The duo, who also earned first-team honors on the coaches and media side, highlighted four players who earned All-Conference recognition as well. Senior Austin Parsley, sophomore Pres Cavenaugh, sophomore Mitchell Smith, and freshman Kennedy Jones earned coaches and media second-team honors.
 
This is the second coaches Player of the Year and third Pitcher of the year for UNCG, and the fifth media Pitcher of the Year. Hoppe becomes the second Spartan pitcher to sweep the coaches and media pitcher award. Matt Frisbee was the first back in 2018.

• Has a 7-2 record this season.
• Has struck out 81 batters.

Austin Parsley

• Pitched first career complete-game shutout in the 4-0 win over The Citadel.
• Has struck out team-high 82 batters.
• Leads the conference with nine wins this season. The nine wins rank 10^th in the nation. It's also a career-high in a single season.
• Has pitched two complete games this season.
• Has struck out a season-high nine batters twice.

 
Mitchell Smith

• Has a .343 batting average.
• Leads the conference in doubles with 23.
• Is ninth in the nation in doubles.
• Had a career-high four hits against Western Carolina.
• Has four games with multiple doubles.

• 2022 Perfect Game Preseason Player of the Year
• Has a .327 batting average.
• Is tied for second in the conference with four triples.
• Had a career-high five hits against Coastal Carolina and a career-high six RBIs against Longwood.
• Has six home runs this season. Two came against ETSU.
